In an era dominated by quantification, algorithmic surveillance, and the transformation of lived experience into measurable data, choosing a poetic practice is not an act of retreat — it is a revolutionary act of resistance. A more conscious world cannot be constructed through metrics, technological optimization, or the endless consumption of razor-sharp digital imagery. Real awareness requires a profound shift in how we perceive, feel, and inhabit our surroundings. Poetics as Resistance directly opposes the static, quantifiable claim of traditional photography. Grounded in a process-based, performative practice, the work unfolds as a temporal flow and moving image piece. It is built from double-exposed analog imagery, grainy monochrome registers, domestic interiors, archival traces, and deep water surfaces where reflection and material dissolve into one another. I merged my medical scans into a 3D volume, using clinical software to surgically remove the tumor from my own digital body. What was once inside me became a solid form. 3D-printed, translated to wax, and cast in recycled silver. Melted scrap given a second life—holding the shape of a memory. Transformations...
